1881 National Reunion Ohio Ribbon

SOLD!!!

A great ribbon worn by Butler County, Ohio Veterans at the 1881 National Reunion. On the top of the ribbon is an eagle with a shield. Written on the ribbon is "Butler County, O. - EX-S.&S. - Sept. 14th,15th,16th, CINCINNATI, O. - 1881 National Reunion". The ribbon is approximately 5 3/4 inches long.


1906 Dayton,Ohio Dep't of Ohio State Reunion Badge

SOLD!!! A great badge from the 1906 Department of Ohio State Encampment held in Dayton, Ohio. This badge was worn by a Delegate. The hanger says "Delegate" on it. The drop has a GAR membership star in a circle. Written on the circle is "40th Annual Encampment Dep't of Ohio - G.A.R., Dayton-June, 1906".The drop is fairly heavy.

1907 Canton, Ohio Dept. of Ohio GAR Badge

A nice heavy badge worn by veterans at the 1907 Department of Ohio Grand Army of the Republic state reunion in Canton, Ohio. This is a three part badge. The top hanger has an eagle with cannon tubes and cannon ballswith GAR and 41st Annual Enc'mp.t. - Department Ohio - G.A.R.. The second piece says Souvenir. The drop is a likeness of President McKinley's tomb in Canton. On the back of the drop is "Canton, O. - June 11-14, 1907". The badge is approximately 4 inches long.


29th Ohio Veteran's Reunion Badge

SOLD!!! A wonderful badge worn by veterans of the 29th Ohio Infantry at their 1898 reunion. The top of the badge is a celluloid approximarly 1 3/4 inches wide. On the celluloid is written "31st Annual Re-Union, 29th Reg't O.V.V.I., Aug. 2,3,4, '98. - Sturgeons Point, Geneva, O." with one of the veterans in the center. A red ribbon with gold fringe hangs from the celluloid. On the red ribbon are the battle honors of the regiment. Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Resaca, Kenesaw Mountain, Peachtree Creek, Atlanta, Savannah, North Edisto River, Goldsboro are just a few of the battles the 29th Ohio fought in. The badge is approximately 7 1/2 inches long. This badge was made by Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, N.J.

26 Ohio Infantry/ Baltimore, Ohio Post Badge

SOLD!!! A very nice badge with a celluloid drop with "26 Ohio - Second Brigade - Second Division - Fourth Army Corps". The 8 3/8 inch red, white, and blue ribbon has "Col. Val Cupp - Post No. 263, G.A.R. Baltimore, O." written on it. On the hanger is "1861 - O.V.V.I. - 1865".

1898 Ohio State Encampment Badge

SOLD!!! A very nice badge for the 32nd Annual Encampment of the Ohio G.A.R. . The hanger on this badge is a light metal with and eagle and 12 stars. The ribbon is red and the drop is a heavy round metal. On the drop is written "Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori - Col. Lorin Andrews of Knox County - Ohio's First Volunteer Soldier" with a likeness of the Colonel. On the back of the drop is written "32nd Annual Encampment Dept. of Ohio G.A.R. - Mt. Vernon, O. June 14-16, 1898" with a soldiers monument in the middle. This badge is in great condition!

Ohio 1888 Exposition/GAR Badge

A great badge worn by a GAR member at the 1888 Ohio Exposition. The 1888 National GAR Encampment was held in Columbus during the Centennial celebration and this badge was worn by GAR members at the celebration! The top hanger is a light metal with Columbus and six stars on it. The ribbon is red, white, and blue. On the front of the bottom drop is a mountain man, Indian, and it looks like Lady Liberty. Written around the figures is "Ohio Centennial 1788 - 1888". On the back of the drop is written "Exposition Columbus Sep. 4 - Oct.19. GAR - Sep. 10-15" with the seal of the state of Ohio. The National Encampment was between September 10 - 15, 1888. This badge might have been a pass for GAR veterans to enter the Centennial Exhibit. A very neat badge for two great Ohio events.

1885 Shelby's Brigade Higgensville,Missouri Ribbon

SOLD!!! A nice framed group of two ribbons. One ribbon was issued in 1885 by Shelby's Brigade! The Shelby's Brigade ribbon is gray. Written in red on the ribbon is "Visitor's Badge - Soldier's Reunion of the Gray and Blue Held at Higginsville, MO., Tuesday, Aug. 25, '85, under auspices of Shelby's Brigade." There is a second ribbon in the frame. It is a F.O.E. ribbon for an annual clam bake. The frame is approximately 6 inches by 7 inches. Shelby's Brigade badges and ribbons are almost impossible to find!

Wilson Post #1, Baltimore, Maryland GAR Badge

SOLD!!! A very hard to find badge from Wilson Post #1, GAR, Baltimore, Maryland. This badge was worn by members of the Wilson Post when they attended the GAR National Encampment in Washington, D.C. in 1892. This great badge has an image of Wison on it and lots of fringe!

Dedication of the New York Monument @ Antietam

SOLD!!! Antietam badges are very hard to find! This badge is from the Dedication of the New York monument at Antietam in 1920. The hanger has "VETERAN" on it. A red ribbon hangs from the hanger to the drop and is in great shape. The oval drop has the New York monument on the front and "Dedication of New York State Monument - Antietam - Sept. 17, 1920" written on it. On the back of the drop is "Battle of Antietam - Sept. 17, 1862". Don't miss this great badge!

98 Ohio Infantry Ladder Badge

A nice ladder badge worn by a veteran from the 98th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The badge has three bars and a blue ribbon. The top bar has "Co. F" on it. The second bar has "98 Ohio" and the third bar has "Vol. Inf." on the bars. The blue ribbon seems newer than the badge but looks nice on the badge.

Identified 60th Ohio Ladder/Shield Badge

A great ladder/shield badge worn by Joseph E. Lewis of Company D, 60th Ohio Infantry. The badge has "J.E. Lewis" on the hanger and "Co. D, 60th Ohio Inf." on the shield part of the badge. The 60th fought at the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna River, Cold Harbor, the seige of Petersburg, and actions around Richmond and Joseph Lewis was there with the regiment. He was a Sergeant.

4th Alabama Cavalry Ladder badge

SOLD!!! A ladder badge for the 4th Alabama Cavalry. This great badge has four pieces. There are three bars and a shield. The top bar has "Co. E". The second bar has "4". The third bar has "ALABAMA". The shield has "Vol. Cav. C.S.A.". The 4th Alabama fought with General Wheelr and the General Forrest at the end of the war!

12th Tennessee Cavalry Ladder Badge

SOLD!!! A great ladder badge from the 12th Tennessee Cavalry. This great badge has four bars and the tassel is still attached! The 12th Tennessee Cavalry was with General Forrest for a good part of the war. This is a nice clean badge with association to General Nathan Bedford Forrest.

Gen. George Armstrong Custer Badge

SOLD!!! A great badge from the Custer Camp #10, Lewston, Maine. The celluloid pinback has water marks but has a great photo of Custer wearing his hat. The ribbon is red, white, and blue. On the ribbon is the date June 20-21, 1906 and Lewston, Me. There is additional information on the ribbon. Don't find Custer items very often!
