1917 UCV Badge worn by 17th NC Inf. Vet Group

A neat group owned by J.A. Yost of the 17th North Carolina Infantry. Yost attended the 1917 United Confederate Veteran's reunion held in Washington, D.C. There are five pieces to this group. The first piece is a U.C.V. Registration form showing J.A. Yost from Saulsbury (Salisbury), N.C. was assigned to the FAIRGROUNDS and a 1917 UCV National badge was issued. The second piece is the 1917 U.C.V. National badge! The third piece is a card that says "Registration Headquarters - United Confederate Veterans - 20th St. and 1st Avenue - KEEP THIS CARD". It looks like Yost could follow instructions!!! The fourth piece is a card and it says "THIS TICKET WILL ENTITLE THE HOLDER who must be a CONFEDERATE VETERAN OF THE CIVIL WAR to his meals until not later than after breakfast, Friday morning, June 8, 1917, at the mess hall, North Capitol and B Streets. - Under no conditions is this ticket transferable.". On the back of this card Yost wrote several places he visited. The fifth item is an ""Addenda Official Program- The Confederate Reunion - Afternoon Session - May 16".
You don't find many identified national badges and all the other items are just gravy!

SOLD!!! A hard to find Society of the Army & Navy of the Confederate States in Maryland badge. This badge was worn at the unveiling of the Private Soldier Monument at Richmond, VA May 30, 1894. The badge consits of a yellow and black ribbon held together by a metal flower type pin. Maryland badges are almost impossible to find!!!!

29th Ohio Infantry Reunion Badge with Gettysburg

A great badge worn by veteran's of the 29th Ohio veteran volunteers! This wonderful badge has a celluloid hanger with one of the members of the 29th Ohio's likeness surrounded by "31st Annual Re-Union, 29th Reg't O.V.V.I., Aug. 2,3,4, 98. Sturgeon's Point, Geneva, O." written on it. A long red ribbon is attached to the celluloid pin. On the red ribbon is a list of the battles the 29th Ohio fought in. The battles include Cedar Mountain, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Dug Gap, Resaca, Kenesaw Mountain, Atlanta, Savannah, and Goldsboro. This unit was in the east and the west!! There is a very small notch on the right side of the badge which does not affect the quality of the badge.

A wonderful badge worn by one of Major General James H. Wilson's cavalry soldiers at the 50th reunion held in 1915. The hanger is a celluloid pin with the likeness of General Wilson. Written on the pin is "Maj. Gen. James H. Wilson". Hanging from the pin is a yellow ribbon. Written on the ribbon is "Sept. 28. 1865 . Sept. 28, 1915 - 36th Annual Reunion - First O.V.V.C. (Ohio Veteran Volunteer Cavalry) - Fiftieth Anniversary of Discharge - Badge of Cavalry Corps, Army of the Cumberland - Columbus, Ohio - Sept. 24th, 1915". A drawing of the Army of the Cumberland Cavalry Corp badge in in the center. General Wilson cavalry badges are hard to come by. Don't miss this one!

1895 Orphan Brigade Reunion Ribbon

SOLD A great and hard to find ribbon from the 1895 reunion of the Orphan Brigade. This reunion was haeld in Bowling Green, Kentucky. A Third National Confederate flag is prominently displayed in the middle of the ribbon. Written on the ribbon is "ORPHAN BRIGADE - 14th Reunion. ..September 26, 1895,.. Bowling Green, KY. ..COMRADE..". A great ribbon for a hard to find unit!

A great early ribbon from the Iron Brigade reunions. This ribbon is thought to be the second in the series of Iron Brigade reunion ribbons. The ribbon has lots of information on the Iron Brigade including the commanders and the battles that the Iron Brigade fought in. The Iron Brigade consisted of the 2, 6, 7 Wisconsin Infantry, the 19 Indiana Infantry, and the 24 Michigan Infantry. Battery B, 4th U.S. Artillery was attached to the Iron Brigade.

This badge has just come out of a 30 year plus collection and is rarely seen on the market. This great badge has the Lone Star flag and the Third National flag in the middle of the ribbon. Written on the ribbon is "OFFICIAL DELEGATE - U.C.V. -5th Annual Reunion - Houston, Texas - May , 1895". A tassel is attached to the bottom of the badge. The badge is made by Whitehead & Hoag. This one will go fast.

A really neat badge worn by a member of the 9th Pennsylvania Cavalry at their 1904 reunion held at Gettysburg! This great badge has three pieces. The top hanger is a light brass type material with "GETTYSBURG" on the the hanger. THe second piece is a yellow ribbon. Written on the ribbon is "35th Annual Reunion - 9th PA. Vet. Vol. Cavalry - Gettysburg - June 9, 1904". The drop is a celluloid drop. On one side is General Judson "Kilcavalry" Kilpatrick. On the back side is a scene from the battle of Gettysburg. The badge is approximately 5 1/4 inches tall.

This great badge has a celluloid pin with Jefferson Davis on it and a red/white/red ribbon hanginging from the celluloid. On the ribbon in silver is written "18th Annual Reunion Georgia Division U.C.V. - Americus, GA. - August 24-25, 1916". The celluloid has crazing on it The badge was made by The American Art Works - Coshocton, Ohio.

A very hard to find badge worn by a member of Hood's Texas Brigade, Army of Northern Virginia. The hanger has a Texas Lone Star flag and a 3rd National Confederate flag in enamel. Written on the hanger is "39 Annual Reunion - Oct. 26-27, 1910 - Austin, Texas". The drop has a circle in a star. The monument in Austin, Texas is on the badge. Written on the drop is "Hood's Texas Brigade, A.N.VA. - 1861 - 1865". These have become almost impossible to find.
