A nice badge for the 13th reunion for veterans of the Mexican War. The ribbon has a gold type woven hanger with a pin attached. A ribbon hangs from the hanger. On the ribbon is an United States flag and a cannon. Written on the ribbon is "1846-'47 & '48 - 13th Reunion National Association Mexican War". The bottom of the ribbon is frayed and seperated where "WAR" is written. On the back of the ribbon you can see a circle where the manufacturers name was but is not there now. Very hard to find Mexican War items.

A great badge worn by Daughters of the War of 1812. The hanger has New York on it. A blue and gray ribbon hangs from the hanger. An enameled blue star drop hangs from the ribbon. On the star is "U.S.D. 1812". Behind the star is an anchor. On the back of the drop is engraved "Cord F. Reynolds - 4743". These badges are getting hard to find! |

Department of Delaware Badge

A wonderful badge worn by veterans living in Delaware at the 1892 GAR National Encampment held at Washington, DC. The ribbon is approximately 9 inches by 2 3/8 inches. THere are two rows of fringe on the badge. The top of the badge has two applied US flags with an eagle and a star. On the lower half odf the badge is "DEPARTMENT of DELAWARE - 1892". The badge was made by Whitehead & Hoag but stamped over the Whitehead & Hoag sticker is "Samuel Wier, 504 W. Fourth Street, Wilmington, Delaware" in purple ink.
Delaware badges are extremely hard to find. Only three counties and not a great number of soldiers compared to the large states!

SOLD!!! A late badge worn by members of the National Association of Ex-Prisoners of war. The hanger has crossed US flags. A yellow ribbon is attached to the hanger. Written on the ribbon is "National Association of Union Ex-Prisoners of War" in gold.

First Ohio Infantry - First Bull Run Association

A wonderful group worn by veterans of the Fist Bull Run Association and the 1st Ohio Infantry. The badge in the middle is an incredible bade. The badge has a brass hanger with a blue ribbon and gold fringe on the bottom of the ribbon. Written on the badge in gold is "He who fights and runs away - May live to fight another day - First Bull Run Association - Franklin, Ohio - Organized June 17th, 1886". There is a bull in the middle of the badge.
The second ribbon is white and has "Bull Run, July 21, 1861" written on it with a bull and an infantry horn. A "21" hangs from the top part of the badge. The third part of the group is a blue ribbon with "1st O.V.I. - July 21, 1861" written on the ribbon.
A wonderful grouping!

The hanger has the Capitol with "Oct. 6th, 1902" written on it. The ribbon is yellow with "Natl. Assn. U. Ex. P of W." written in silver. The drop has the Union Ex-Prisoner of War logo in the middle and "GAR - 36th National Encampment" written on it. The ribbon has several small seperations on ir.

SOLD!!! A really nice badge worn by members of the Union Ex-Prisoners of War association at the 1904 Grand Army of the Republic National Encampment. The hanger has a hub and a group of flags surrounding it with "Delegate" written on the hanger. The ribbon is yellow with "EX P of W" in silver on the ribbon. The drop has "Boston 1904" written on it with the Ex POW logo in the middle.

A wonderful badge from the 1911 Grand Army of the Republic National Encampment worn by members of the Union Ex-Prisoners of War Association. The Encampment was held in Rochester, New York. The silver colored hanger has a Veterans Monument and "1911 Rochester, New York - To Those Who Faithful Unto Death Gave Their Lives For Their Country" written on it. The ribbon is yellow. The drop has a stockade and prisoners and guards on it. "NAUEPofW" is written on the bottom of the drop. The badge was made by Bastian Bros. as noted on the back of the drop. |

SOLD!!! A great badge from the 1905 GAR National Encampment held in Denver, Colorado in 1905. The silver colored hanger has Mt. Holy Cross and Pikes Peak surrounded by US flags. A yellow ribbon hangs from the hanger. Written in gold on the ribbon is "Delegate - 33rd Annual Encampment - N.A.U.Ex-O.of W. - Denver - Sept. 1905". A Union Ex-POW badge is featered on the ribbon.

SOLD!!! A great badge from the 1903 San Francisco Grand Army of the Republic National Encampment Union Ex-Prisoners of War badge. The hanger has a bear on the top and "California" written on it. The ribbon is red with "National Association U.Ex. P. of W. " written on it. The drop has "GAR - 37th National Encampment - August 1903 - U.EX.P.W. - Death Befor Dishonor" written on it. The Ex POW logo is in the middle. "The Pettibone Bros. Mfg. Co. - Cin'ti,O." is on the back of the drop.

A great badge worn by Union ex-prisoners of war at the 1901 Grand Army of the Repulic National Encampment held in Cleveland, Ohio. The hanger is silver colored with Moses Cleveland, a railroad train, and factories. Written on the hanger is "Sept. 9-14 - Cleveland - 1901". The ribbon is red and has "Union Ex-Prisoners of War" in gold written on the ribbon. The drop has an eagle, tow monuments, and the GAR membership drop. In the center of the bad in a brass colored metal is the Ex-Prioner of War logo. Ont he back is "Schwaab S. & S. Co. - Milwaukee".

Pickett-Buchanan Camp Badge - Confederate Veterans

A great ribbon worn by members of the Pickett-Buchanan Camp of Confederate Veterans. This camp was located in Norfolk, Virginia. This ribbon is white and has a Confederate battle flag and a Virginia state flag crossed. Under the flags is written "Pickett-Buchanan Camp C.V. - Norfolk, Virginia". This ribbon predates 1889 because the United Confederate Veterans were created in 1889. The Pickett-Buchanan Camp was also part of the Grand Camp of Virginia which also predated the United Confederate Veteran organization.

SOLD!!! A very early monument dedication badge from Gettysburg! This badge has a presses GAR type eagle and a round solid drop. Written on the front of the solid drop is "GAR Encampment - Dedication of Monuments on July, 1886 at Gettysburg, PA". On the back of the drop is a copy of the GAR membership lapel pin surrounded by a wreath. A very early Gettysburg monument badge. Don't miss it.

A great badge from the 50th reunion of the 11th Michigan Cavalry. The badge consists of a celluloid button inside a brass type housing with a yellow ribbon surrounding the housing. On the button is written "50th Anniversary - 1863 - 28th Annual Reunion - Kalamazoo - Sept. 10-11 - 1913 - 11th Michigan Cavalry". The complete badge is approximately 2 3/4 inches wide.

A really neat badge worn by veterans of the 11th Michigan Cavalry at their 1914 annual reunion and at the 1914 G.A.R. National Encampment. This neat badge has a pin with a celluloid face. On the face is "Detroit, Michigan - Sept. 2nd, 3rd 1914". Attached to the pin is a celluloid badge that opens to be a writing pad!!! On the front of the pad is written "29th Annual Reunion - 11th Michigan Cavalry - Sept 2nd, 3rd 1914 - Detroit". On the back of the pad is written "48th National Encampment - Aug 31st, Sept 5th - Detroit". A really neat badge!
