SOLD!!! A great CDV of a man on Lookout Mountain. The Tennessee River is in the background. There is no backmark but this photograph was probably taken by photographer R.M. Lynn. The CDV is clear and crisp.

Baton Rouge Burned State Capitol CDV

A wonderful image of the state capitol in Baton Rouge after the Union soldiers burned it. Written on the front is "State House, Baton Rouge, La". The backmark is "Photographed By A.D. Lytle, Main Street, Baton Rouge, LA.".


Full Plate Armed Confederate Tintype

SOLD!!! A wonderful full plate armed Confederate tintype. This great tintype is approximately 8 7/8 inches by 6 7/8 inches. The artist hand colored the tintype. This Confederate soldier has a Colt type pistol in his belt. Don't miss this great tintype!

Civil War Post Office CDV

A great CDV of a Civil War post office with four mail men standing in front. The mail men look like they are wearing Union Civil War uniforms. On the top of the building is "Post Office". On the back of the CDV in period ink is "Post office and four postman".

General George Washington's Lantern & Cuttlery CDV

SOLD!!! A neat CDV of General George Washington's camp lantern and his knife and fork. The hand is holding the knife and fork and his camp lantern is sitting on the table. This CDV was probably taken by a museum to document their items. On the back of the CDV in periord ink is "Genl Washingtons Camp Lantern & Camp Knife & Fork, 1776".

Armed Mounted Cowboy Photograph

SOLD!!! A nice cowboy photograph! The cowboy has a Winchester carbine in his saddle boot. I think I can see a pistol but won't guaranty it. The photograph is approximately 2 1/2 inches by 3 3/8 inches.

15th Illinois Cavalry Soldier on Lookout Mtn. CDV

SOLD!!! An outstanding CDV of Charles Harvey, 15th Illinois Cavalry sitting on Lookout Mountain. Harvey is holding binoculars and signed the front of the CDV. On the back is a 3 cent tax stamp and a B. Kindblade, Photographic Artist, Geneva, Ill. backmark. Also on the back is information on Charles Harvey written by his relatives.

Morris Island, South Carolina Beacon House CDV

SOLD!!!

A wonderful CDV of the Beacon House on Morris Island, South Carolina. The Beacon House was used as Confederate Headquarters and a light house. It was later held by Federal sharp shooters and was shelled by Confederates at Fort Wagner. There is no backmark on this CDV but the photo was probably taken by Sam Cooley. There are several soldiers standing inside the ruins of the house and a wagon outside the front of the house.


Dept. of Cumberland Staff Officers on Lookout Mtn.

A great CDV of Department of the Cumberland staff officers on Lookout Mountain. The soldiers are from left: Capt. Henry Stone (Assistant Adjutant general); Major Gates P. Thruston (assistant adjutant general and acting judge advocate); Col. Joseph P. Burke, 10th Ohio (commanding headquarters guard); Capt. Hunter Brooke (aide-de-camp and acting judge advocate); unidentified; Major Charles S. Cotter (commanding artillery in the Chattanooga garrison); and a newspaper correspondent, who bears a strong resemblance to Theodore R. Davis of "Harper's Weekly". There is no backmark on the CDV. A copy of the back of another identified CDV is included along with a copy of the photo published in "Echoes of Battle".

Union Signal Station, Hilton Head, South Carolina

SOLD!!! A very nice photograph of the Union Signal Station on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Two soldiers are standing in front of the signal station and one soldier is standing on top of the house. A great and hard to find photograph from the Civil War period.

Union Mortar Battery on Morris Island, S.C. Photo

SOLD!!! A great photograph of Union artillery troops manning a mortar battery on Morris Island, South Carolina. This battery was firing on Fort Sumter and Charleston. There are two mortars in the photograph. This photograph is approximately 3 5/8 inches by 3 7/8 inches. This photograph was produced by John C. Taylor, 17 Allen Place, Hartford, Conn."

Fort Sumter 1865 Stereoview by Geo. Barnard

A nice stereoview of Fort Sumter taken in March, 1865 by George Barnard. Fort Sumter was evacuated by the Confederates in February, 1865. You can see Barnard's rowboat and crew on the sandbar and the damage done to the fort by Union land and naval batteries. More than 46,000 shells had been fired by Union batteries in 280 days of shelling from 1863 to 1865.

A great cabinet card of Major General Joseph C. Wheeler. The phtograph was issued and distributed by Fairbank's Fairy Soap. These cards are printed and given as advertising by the soap company. The card is approximately 6 1/4 inches by 3 7/8 inches.

19th South Carolina, Lt. Milledge Franklin Photo

A nice photograph of Lt. Milledge Franklin and his family in 1902. Franklin served in the 19th South Carolina Infantry. Franklin was 72 years old when this photo was taken. Written around the edges on the front is "Lt. Milledge Franklin and Family, Graniteville, S.C. - Xmas 1902 - An Army Co. Mate and Friend of Geo. W. Howard - Presented Xmas 1902". Written on the back of the photograph is Milledge Franklin -Lt. Co"B" - 19th SoCa. Volunteers Manigan - Withers Div_. Polks Corpse.". The photograph is approximately 6 1/4 inches by 5 1/8 inches. A nice identified Confederate veteran photo.
