A really neat photo of Union Civil War soldier from Illinois on garrison duty in Dalton, Georgia. On the back of the CDV, in pencil, is "Cap EE Sturtevant & Staff at Dalton, GA - E. Van Burn's room at left". Captain Edward E. Sturtevant was in the 147 Illinois Infantry. There is no backmark.

The CDV was sold by "A.Jewett, Jr. Photographer, 540 Pennsylvania Avenue, Between 1st & 2d Sts., (West) Washington, D.C. Negatives preserved." as shown on the backmark.
