Here is a wonderful CDV of the Chattanooga Military Railroad Depot during the Civil War. Lookout Mountain looms in the background. The Adams Express office is on the left of the picture. There are tents and wagons with horses in the background. The backmark is "A.S. Morse, Photographer, Dep't of the Cumberland, Branch of HD.Qrs., 25 Cedar Street, Nashville, Tenn.".

Armed Wisconsin Soldiers on Lookout Mountain Photo

Here is a great photo of three Wisconsin soldiers on Lookout Mountain. One of the soldiers is holding a Springfield rifle! The bottom soldier has an "x" by him and is identified in ink on the back of the cabinet card. He is identified as Edwin Pelton, Co. A, 21 Wisconsin Infantry. There are also copies of his pension papers and his wife's pension papers that come with the photograph. The photo is approximately 6 7/16 inches by 4 3/16 inches. Lookout Mountain photos are getting hard to find!

GAR Member with Indian War Helmeted Cadets Photo

This large photo has an officer wearing a straight winged GAR membership badge and an Army of the Potomac(?) badge. He is standing with numerous cadet holding rolling block type rifles and wearing Indian War helmets. The straight winged eagle membership badge was made between 1875 and 1886. The photo was taken by Baker's Art Gallery, Columbus, Ohio. The mat is approximately 14 3/8 inches by 11 1/2 inches. The photo measures approximately 6 5/8 inches by 8 5/8 inches.

Here is a wonderful photo of a GAR reunion at the Devil's Den at Gettysburg! This large photo has lots of GAR members and their wives posing at the Devil's Den. On the photo is "No P164 at Devil's Den - Gettysburg, PA. Oct. 6th, 1902". The photographer was M.F. Williams. The mat is approximately 17 inches by 13 7/8 inches. The photograph is approximately 10 1/2 by 13 1/2 inches. The mat is in poor condition with the left corner being torn away. The photo is in fair condition. There is a white spot to the right of the Devil's Den sign. There is a small crease and tear on the left bottom to the left of the title on the photo. Overall this is an incredible GAR/Gettysburg photo!

This great image is by Matthew Brady, the premier photographer of the Civil War. General Logan is wearing a 15 Corp badge on his lapel. Brady's backmark is on the reverse.

An armed cavalry officer cdv tinted by the photographer. This great cdv has a cavalry officer seated by a table. The officer is holding his sword and has a Hardee type hat on the table. The photographer tinted his belt plate, pant stripes, sword knot and epauletts yellow and he tinted the table cover red. Don't miss this great cdv!

Brig. General R.E. Colston. Here is a great cdv of Confederate General R.E. Colston. The cdv is backmarked E. & H.T. Anthony, New York. Colston graduated from VMI and was Colonel of the 16th Virginia. He was promoted brigadier general on December 24, 1861. He commanded a brigade in the Peninsular campaign and in April, 1863 was assigned a brigade in Stonewall Jackson's corps. After a poor performance at Chancellorsville, he was moved to other less important duties for the rest of the war.
