A nice image of Sgt. Jacob L. Clingman of Battery "A" of the 1st Illinois Light Artillery.  Clingman is wearing his sergrant stripes on his uniform.  The backmark is "Hesler, Artist, No. 113 Lake Street, Chicago".  Clingman mustered in in July 1861 and mustered out in July 1864.  He started as acorporal and ended as a 1st Sergeant.

Harmon of Battery G of the 2nd Illinois Light Artillery.  Harmon enlisted in August 1861 as a Corporal.  He mustered out in September 1865.  He was promoted 2nd Lieutenant in January 1864 and 1st Lieutenant in August 1864.  Written under his image on the front of the card is "Yours Truly, R.G. Harmon - Battery "G" 2nd Ill Lt. Arty".  The backmark on the image is "Outley's Photographic Palace of Art. 39  4th St. St. Louis, Oppisite Planters House.".  A gree n three cent tax revenue stamp is attached to the back of the image.

A great photograph of Lt. Charles M. Harvey of Company "K" of the 15th Illinois Cavalry.  Harvey started his Civil War career as a private in Smith's  Company, Illinois Independent Cavalry.  He moved to the 15th Illinois Cavalry in December 1862.  He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in January 1863 and 1st Lieutenant in July 1863.  he mustered out in December 1864.  This great photograph has Harvey seated on Lookout Mountain in his uniform, wearing a kepi, and holding a pair of binoculars.  Written on the photograph is period ink is "Chas. M. Harvey".  The backmark on the image is B. Kindblade, Photographic Artist, Geneva, Ill.".  A green three cent tax revenue stamp is attached to the back of the image.  Written on the back of the image is "Chas. Harvey at Lookout Mountain during Civil War 1864".  Also there is other information on Harvey written in more modern ink.

Wyman of the 13th Illinois Infnatry.  The backmark on the image is "Brady's National Photographic Portrait Galleries, Broadway & Tenth St., New York& No. 352 Pennsylvania Av. Washington D.C.".  COlonel Wyman was one of those Union soldiers that I can call a skallywag.  Coloonel Wyman and some of his officers were involved in looting Southern farms and plantations of anything they could get and sending the property back to Illinois instead of turning it over to the U.S. authorities.  I guess you could say they were in it for personal gain.  One of their schemes involved selling Southern captured horses to the Union cavalry.  When horses were captured on raids they were to be turned over to the U.S. Army for the cavalry.  Wyman and friends would capture the horses and get someone not involved with them to sell the horses to the Quartermasters Department.  Eventually he was found out and scheduled for a court marshal in December 1862.  He was caught up in Sherman's advance on Vicksburg in late December 1862.  Fortunately for the court marshal board, a Confederate sniper killed Wyman during the attack on Chickasaw Bayou, Mississippi.  All this is documented in the records which I have and will supply to the buyer.

Killion of the 18th Illinois Infantry.  Killion is leaning on a column.  You can see his sword and gauntlets.  His kepi is leaning between the column and his arm.  The backmark on the image is "Brand's, 180 & 110 Lake Stree, Chicago".  This image of Killion was identified from a duplicate image.  Killion mustered in as a 1st Lieutenant in Sepember 1861.  He was promoted to Captain in June 1863 and resigned in April 1865.

A nice image of Samuel Denton of Company "E" of the 20th Illinois Infantry.  The backmark is "Jas. L. Payne, Artist, Clinton, Ill.".  Written under the photograph on the front of the image in period ink is "Samuel Denton".  Denton captured a Confederate flag in the Atlanta campaign and was awarded the 17th Corp Medal of Honor.  Denton enlisted in June 1861 and reenlisted in January 1864.  He mustered out in July 1865.  He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant in August 1864.
