Cotton Belt Route, Railroad, UCV Lapel Pin
Offered is a neat lapel pin worn by Confederate veterans when they rode the Cotton Belt Route of the St. Louis Southwestern Railway. From 1891 to 1992, the St. Louis Southwestern Railway operated between St. Louis, Missouri, and various points in the states of Arkansas and Texas. It was nicknamed "The Cotton Belt Route," or simply Cotton Belt, because its rails ran primarily through regions where cotton was the predominate crop. The pin has a Confederate battle flag in the middle. Written around the Confederate battle flag is "COTTON BELT ROUTE - U.C.V.". The lapel pin is approximately 7/8 inches wide. There is a push in the middle of the pin.

A beautiful celluloid badge in the shape of a canteen. The first side has Winnie Davis, the daughter of the Confederacy, on it and the second side has the Winnie Davis rose in a metal stand and "Official Reunion Louisville 1900 - Winnie Davis Rose" written on it. This is truly a beautiful celluloid badge with great color. The badge tie is still attached which is not normal for this badge. The ties were taken off the badges and lost.

1904 UCV Nashville, Tennessee Celluloid Canteen
I can promise you, you will not see this one very often! This is a celluloid canteen made for the 1900 United Confederate Reunion held in Louisville, Kentucky. They must have had several left over because they put "Nashville 1904" on the bottom and sold them at the Nashville, Tennessee UCV national reunion held in 1904. I have seen pennants and a few other items recycled this way but never one of the celluloid canteens. One side of the canteen has a third national Confederate flag and the other side has Winnie Davis on it. Very few collections will be able to have one of these. If you are a Nashville, Tennessee collector another one of these canteens marked like this might never come around!!

General Stonewall Jackson Pinback
Just found at the Nashville Civil War show is a wonderful pinback with Stonewall Jackson on it. Written on th pinback is Gen. "S.J. Jackson - Stonewall Jackson"! The printers made a hugh misprint!!!! Last time I checked his name was Thomas J. Jackson not S.J. Jackson. The printer was probably a Yankee! There is a patent date of July 21, 1896 on the side of the pinback. You will not see misprints like this very often.

1901 USCV Baton Rouge, LA Pinback - SCREAMER!!
This pinback is a screamer and very, very hard to find! The pinback is approximately 1 3/4 inches wide. In the middle of the pinback is a wonderful poem - "Out of its scabbard never hand - Waved sword from stain as free. - Nor purer sword led braver band, Nor braver bled for a brighter land. - Nor brighter land had a cause as grand. - Nor cause had a chief like Lee. - Father Ryan". Around the poem is written "Re-Union Sons of Veterans - Baton Rouge, La.. Aug. 5-6, '01".
When I first saw this I thought Union Sons of Veterans but when I read the poem I knew it was USCV. No Union pinback would glorify General Lee! The Sons were still trying to decide what to call themselves in 1901. This is an inredibly hard to find pinback! Don't miss it!!!!
