A very pretty 1899 Grand Army of the Republic national encampment badge.  This one is very clean and has the Liberty Bell on the front!

1895 GAR Grand Army Louisville, KY National Badge

A great 1895 Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) national badge from the Louisville, Kentucky encampment.  The top bar has a thoroughbred horse in chocolate bronze atop a gilt-bronze bar with the GAR initials in the center and ears of corn on each end.  The shield is flanked by tobacco leaves on the left and a whiskey barrel on the right, denoting Kentucky’s major industries.  Suspended from the top bar is a gilt-bronze pendent inscribed at the top and bottom “United We Stand/Divided We Fall”.  The round pendant contains an inserted chocolate bronze medallion depicting two soldiers shaking hands.  Around the insert are the symbols of war, including a cannon, rifles, flags, a drum, and a stack of cannon balls.  The reverse has the maker’s name, “Heeran Bros & Co., Pittsburgh, Pa.’, and is inscribed “Presented by the Citizens Committee Louisville 1895”.  The reverse is inscribed, “Delegate 29th National Encampment”.

15th Pennsylvania Cavalry 1907 Colorado Springs, CO Badge

A great badge worn by a member of the 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry at their 1907 reunion held in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  General William J. Palmer moved out west after the Civil War and made a fortune in railroads.  In 1907 General Palmer invited all the living veterans of the 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry to travel out to Colorada Springs, Colorado at his expense for a reunion.  I have a large photograph of this reunion under Grand Army of the Republic - Photographs.  The hanger of this badge has the 115th Pennsylvania Cavalrys regimental crest.  Also written on the hanger is "35th Annual Reunion - 15th PA Cavalry".  A yellow ribbon connects the hanger and the drop.  The drop has a likeness of General William J. Palmer on the front.  After all he was paying for the party!  The back of the drop has "Colorado Springs - Aug. 17-26, 1907".  (Notice the ten day reunion time frame.)  The badge is made by J.K. Davison & Son, Philadelphia, PA as noted on the back of the badge.
 
 

1908 Winston-Salem , NC UCV Advertising Celluloid Flag Pin

A great third national Confederate flag pin passed out at the Winston-Salem, North Carolina reunion by the Liipfert-Scales Co., Makers of Red Meat Tobacco.  The pin is a third national Confederate flag on one side.  Written on the back side of the pin is "State Reunion North Carolina Confederate Veterans - Winston-Salem, N.C. - Aug. 19th & 20th, 1908 - Compliments Liipfert-Scales Co. - Makers of Red Meat Tobacco".  The celluloid flag is on a long pin with a small brass type nob.The flag is made by the Whitehead & Hoag Company, Newark, N.J.

122nd Illinois Infantry Ided Ladder Shield Badge

A nice ladder shield badge worn by a member of the 122nd Illinios Infantry.  "G.W. Wright" is written on the top hanger bar of this badge.  "Jacksonville, Ill" is on the second ladder bar.  The shield has "Co. B - 122nd - Ill. Vol. Inf." and a 16th Corp badge symbol.  The pin is missing from this badge.

A great ladder badge worn by a veteran of the 38th Illinois Infantry.  The badge has three rungs with a shield.  Written on the badge is "Co. F - 38 - Illinois - Vol. Inf.". 

27th New Jersey Infantry 1900 Reunion Badge

A very nice badge worn at the 1900 reunion of the 27th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry.  The hanger is a brass type material with "MEMBER".  The ribbon is red.  Written on the ribbon is "Ninth Re-Union 27th Reg't N.J. Vol.- Chatham, N.J. - Oct. 3, 1900".   A celluloid drop is attached to the ribbon with a photo of one of the veterans of the 27th New Jersey.   On the back of the celluloid on a paper label is "The Sommer Badge M'f'g. Company, 12 William Street, Newark, N.J.".  The badge is approximately 6 1/4 inches long and 2 inches wide.

A very nice badge worn at the 1908 reunion of the 27th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry.  The hanger is a brass type material with "GUEST".  The ribbon is red, white, and blue.  Written on the ribbon is "17th Annual Re-Union 27th Reg't N.J. Vols - Oct. 8, 1908".   A celluloid drop is attached to the ribbon.  On the drop is Chaplain Rev. W.W. McCormack.The Chaplain is identified on the back of the celluloid drop.  The badge is approximately 5 3/4 inches long and 2 inches wide.

A very nice badge worn at the 1901 reunion of the 27th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry.  The hanger is a brass type material with "GUEST".  A large celluloid with American flags is attached to the ribbon.  Written below the celluloid is "Tenth Annual Re-Union 27th N.J. Vols - Oct. 9, 1901".  Above the celluloid is a Ninth Corp symbol.  The badge is approximately 6 3/8 inches long and 2 inches wide.  Attached to the back of the badge is a cardboard piece with "The Sommer Badge M'f'g Company, 239-241 Halsey Street, Newark, N.J.".

1913 UCV Chattanooga National Reunion Badge

A nice badge worn by Confederate veterans at the 1913 United Confederate Veterans reunion held in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The hanger has a third national flag and a Confederate battle flag on it.  "UCV" is in between the two flags.  A red and white ribbon hangs between the hanger and the drop.  The drop has Lookout Mountain in the background and cannons and houses in the fore ground.  Written on the drop is "U.C.V. Reunion Chattanooga, Tenn. - May 27- 29, 1913 - Lookout Mountain".  Written on the back of the drop is "Official Veteran Badge made by Schwaab Stamp & Seal Co. - Milwaukee, Wis.".  There is some seperation on the white part of the red and white ribbon.  The badge is very clean and bright.

139th New York Infantry Regimental Badge

A beautiful regimental badge worn by a member of the 139th New York Infantry.  The hanger has "139 Regt N.Y. Vols" written on it.  Ared, white, and blue ribbon attaches the hanger to the drop.  The drop is in the shape of the 18th Corps symbol.  An enamel heart  standing for the 24th Corps in blue is in the center of the drop.  A red enamel ring surrounds the blue heart.  Written in the ring is the latin moto of the regiment.  Also written on the drop is "War 1862 - 1865 - Veterans".  The badge was made by Robert Stoll, 19 John St., N.Y. as stamped on the back of the drop. 

1911 Connecticut Cavalry Badge with General Geo. A. Custer

A hard to find GAR ribbon with General George Armstrong Custer's likeness on the badge!  This neat badge was worn by cavalry veterans at the 1911 Connecticut cavalry reunion held in Hartford, Conn.  The badge has a brass hanger with a yellow ribbon attached to it.  On the ribbon is a likeness of General Custer.  Written around the likeness of General Custer in black is "44 Conn. Cavalry Reunion - Hartford - Oct. 4, 1911".  Please note there is some staining to the left side of the ribbon from General Custer's shoulder down.  Attached to the back of the ribbon is a paper label from the Whitehead & Hoag Company, Newark, N.J.,

1951 UCV Norfolk, Virginia Final Reunion Badge

The last United Confederate reunion was held in Norfolk, Virginia in 1951.  This is one of the last Confederate reunion badges!  The badge is in a pinback style and approximately 1 3/4 inches wide.  A Confederate battle flag is in the middle of the badge.  Written around the battle flag is "Last Confederate Reunion - Norfolk, VA. May 30 - June 2, 1951".  Don't miss this opportunity to own one of the final reunion badges! 


1904 UCV Nashville, Tennessee General Gordon Lapel Stud

A very nice lapel stud worn by a member of the United Confederate Veterans at the 1904 reunion held in Nashville, Tennessee.  The stud is approximately 1 1/8 inch wide.  The likeness of General John B. Gordon is in the middle of the badge.  Written around Gordon's likeness is "Nashville - June 1904".  The stud was made by the B.H. Stief Jewelry Company, Nashville, Tennessee as noted by a stamp on the back of the stud.
