SOLD!!! A great photograph of James E. Nichols in front of his patriotic house! Nichols served in the 51st Massachusetts Infantry from 9/25/1862 until he was mustered out on 07/27/1863. He was living in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts in the 1890 census. He was born in Oxford, Mass. I have a group of four photographs with Nichols in the photograph. This photograph shows Nichols who must have been a very patriotic man standing in front of his house. Look at the large flag and all the patriotic bunting on his home. On the back of the photograph is "Novelty Photo - For Duplicates - F. Hayes, Beverly, Mass.". The photograph is approximately 4 7/8 inches by 6 7/8 inches. The cardboard backing is approximately 8 inches by 10 inches.
