A wonderful identified ladder badge from the 89th Ohio Infantry. This badge was owned by Arch Cork, Co. H, 89 Reg. O.V.I. Archibald Cork was mustered in August 1862 and was mustered out on June 7, 1865. The 89th Ohio supported the Wilder brigade at the battle of Hoover's Gap. The regiment engaged in the battle of Chickamauga where it was in the hottest part of the battle. At the end of the second day most of the regiment was captured. Arch Cork was not one of the captured soldiers. He fought at Missionary Ridge, Rocky Face Ridge, Resaca, and all the other fights in the Atlanta campaign. They fought at Nashville and joined Sherman on his march to the sea. They also fought in the Carolina campaign at the end of the war. This is a great badge! Don't miss it!
