SOLD!!! Very hard to find Wilder Brigade Reunion ribbon. This great ribbon was worn by members of the Wilder's Brigade at the 1920, Terre Haute, Ind. reunion on Sept. 19-20, 1920. The Wilder's Brigade was composed of the 17, 72 Indiana Infantry, and the 92, 98, and 123 Illinois Infantry. Wilder provided his men with Spenser rifles when the normal army doctrine was that repeating rifles were not practical. At the battle of Hoovers Gap, Tennessee his brigade proved how important the repeating rifles were. At Chickamauga, Wilder's Brigade was able to keep a level of fire on the Confederates that allowed the Union army to retreat to Chattanooga. The ribbon is approximately 5 3/8 inches by 2 1/8 inches.
