| SOLD!!! Here is a hard to find GAR National badge with an even harder to find box. The badge is absolutely wonderful. In the box is the most wonderful information about the number of 1887 badges produced. On the inside of the box is"This medal, of sterling silver, is presented on behalf of the citizens of St. Louis by the General Executive Committee on the entertainment of the 21st Annual Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic; held at St. Louis, Mo., September 26th to October 1st, 1887. The copper star is of Missouri copper. Only 950 of these medals have been struck off. Geo. D. Reynolds, Chairman Sub-Com. on Badges". The outside of the box says "Haskel Engraving Company, Designers, General Engravers, and Manufacturing of SEALS, MEDALS, BADGES, Etc. 713 Olive Street, St. Louis". What a wonderful group!
