This is the membership badge of the UCV. Most people think the Southern Cross was the membership badge of the UCV but it was not. The United Daughters of the Confederacy established the Southern Cross in 1900 as an honor to the veterans.

The Confederate Veterans would wear a lapel pin with the battle flag on it. These are very hard to find. The back screws off. The enamel is wonderful.
