SOLD!!!

A great Forrest Cavalry badge that came out of a very old collection!  These badges are getting very hard to find and if you do the condition is poor!  These were the member badges worn by the General Nathan Bedford Forrest Cavalry Corps.  In order to be a member, you had to fight under General Forrest.  This is a three piece badge.  The hanger has a likeness of General Robert E. Lee with a Confederate battle flag and a Confederate third national flag.  The word "MEMBER" is on the hanger.  Attached to the hanger is a piece with "Forrest Cavalry Corps" written on it.  This is covered in blue enamel.  There are two very small areas were the enamel is missing on this piece.  A small piece between the "V" and "A" of Cavalry and a smaller piece after the period at the end of the word "CORPS".  the drop has the likeness of General Nathan Bedford Forrest on it.  A third national Confederate flag is on the flip side of the hanger.  "Schwaabs & S. Co. - Milwaukee" is the maker mark on the back of the drop.  The pin is attached to the back of the hanger which is not always the case.
