A seated view of Jeremiah Lucas of Company "F" of the 26th Illinois Infantry. The backmark on the image is Albert S. Cooper's Photographic & Fine Art Gallery, No. 231 Main Street, 3 doors above 3d, Louisville, Kentucky." Written in pencil on the back of the image is "Jareymise Leoacus".  Lucas is wearing a badge or medal on his breast.  Lucas enlisted in August 1861 and reenlisted in January 1864. He mustered out in July 1865.  A blue two cent tax revenue stamp is attached to the back of the image.
