An image of Captain Hardin T. Richardson of the 32nd Illinois Infantry.  Written in period pencil on the back of the image is "Tife Richardson - Capt "C" Co. - 32nd Ills. Vet. Vol.".  The backmark is "John G. Stewart, Photographer, Carlinville, Ills.".  An orange two cent tax stamp is attached to the back of the image. 


SERVICE - Moved from Cairo, Ill., to Bird's Point, Mo., February 2, 1862; thence to Fort Henry, Tenn., February 8-9, and duty there till March 5 (Co. "A" at Fort Donelson, Tenn., February 13-15, and on Expedition to Eastport, Miss. Cos. "C" and "K" on gunboats "Tyler" and "Lexington," February, 1862. Action at Pittsburg Landing March 1.) Regiment moved from Fort Henry to Pittsburg Landing, Tenn., March 5-15. Battle of Shiloh, Tenn., April 6-7. Advance on and siege of Corinth, Miss., April 29-May 30. Regiment lost during service 8 Officers and 90 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 2 Officers and 168 Enlisted men by disease. Total 268.
