The 1887 National Encampment badge has a silver top suspension bar inscribed "St. Louis 1887", and bears a bronze GAR star in the center. The round pendant depicts a profile bust of John Logan encircled by the inscription "John A. Logan Patriot, Statesman, Model Volunteer". The reverse depicts the Missouri state seal encircled by the inscription "Delegate 21st Nat'l Encampment/Grand Army of the Republic".
