SOLD!!! This is one of my favorite photographs of General Sherman. His eyes tell his story and let us know it really didn't bother him to burn Georgia. Written under the image on the front in period ink is "Gen Sherman". The backmark on the CDV is "Morse's Gallery of the Cumberland, 25 Cedar St., opposite Commercial Hotel, Nashville, Tenn.". A blue two cent George Washington tax stamp is on the back of the card.
