SOLD!!! A very hard to find badge worn by members of the Hampton Battery at the 1913 Gettysburg 50th Anniversay. The badge consists of a celluloid pinback top with a flag ribbon. On the pinback is a likeness of General George Meade. Written around General Meade is "Hampton Battery - Gettysburg Semi-Centennial - 1863 - 1913". The Hampton Battery was the unofficial name for the Pennsylvania Independent Light Artillery, Battery F. Of the 80 men who were mustered into service on October 8, 1861, only 28 survived. All the units first officers were killed including Robert B. Hampton for whom the battery was named.
