A great badge from one of the Civil War's 300 Fighting Regiments!  This beautiful regimental badge was worn by a member of the 17th Maine Infantry.  The hanger has an Infantry bugle and the symbols of the Second and Third Corps.   Written on the hanger is "Maine Vol Inf'try".  The drop is hanging by a chain from the hanger.  A "17" in white enamel is surrounded by red enamel.  Written on the drop is "Fredericksburg to Appomattox - 1862 - 1865".
