A wonderful badge grouping worn by a veteran of the 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry. The first badge is a gold badge worn by members of the 15th PA. Cavalry. This badge has a saddle with a cavalry saber and a carbine. Around the saddle is "PVC" and a "15" is on the saddle. The second badge is a gold Post badge engraved on the back with "Geo. K. Mecke - Co. M - 15 PA Cav.". This neat pin has "Post 94 - Philada" on the front with crossed saber and a star hanging from the badge. A "T" bar pin is on the back. George K. Mecke enlisted on August 22, 1862 as a private. He was promoted to Sergeant on July 9, 1864 and was mustered out on June 21, 1865 in Nashville, Tennessee.
