| SOLD!!! A wonderful badge worn by veterans living in Delaware at the 1892 GAR National Encampment held at Washington, DC. The ribbon is approximately 9 inches by 2 3/8 inches. THere are two rows of fringe on the badge. The top of the badge has two applied US flags with an eagle and a star. On the lower half odf the badge is "DEPARTMENT of DELAWARE - 1892". The badge was made by Whitehead & Hoag but stamped over the Whitehead & Hoag sticker is "Samuel Wier, 504 W. Fourth Street, Wilmington, Delaware" in purple ink. Delaware badges are extremely hard to find. Only three counties and not a great number of soldiers compared to the large states! Item #: 11441 |
