A CDV of an armed Civil War soldier standing by a chair wearing a tam! Many Illinois soldiers wore tams for head gear in honor of General John McArthur from Chicago. General McArthur wore a tam with his uniform. Many of his soldiers did likewise. A very large pistol is holstered on his belt. There is no backmark on this CDV.
