Here is a great ladder badge for the 28 Wisconsin Infantry, Co. D. This five piece badge has four bars and a brass tassel. Wonderful badge!
The 28 Wisconsin spent most of it's war duty in Arkansas. They were part of the 4,000 garrison at Helena when it was attacked by 18,000 Confederates. The garrison held and the Confederates retreated. They moved to Mobile and fought there at the end of the war.
