A great full standing image of Charles J. Pierce of Battery "I" of the 1st Illinois Light Artillery.  The backmark on the image is "Charlie Mosher's Fine Art Gallery. No. 142 Lake Street, Chicago.".  Written in pencil on the back of the image is "Charles J. Pierce".  Pierce enlisted in February 1862 and reenlisted in March 1863.  He mustered out in July 1865.  He was promoted to corporal during his Civil War career.
