A nice image of Lt. Albert Potthoff of the 43rd Illinois Infantry. Potthoff mustered in as 1st Lieutenant and Quartermaster in December 1861. He mustered out in December 1864. There is no backmark. Written in period ink on the back of the image is "Very Truly Yours, Albert Potthoff, Lieut. 43d Ill. Inf. & A.A. Qtr. - Post of Little Rock, Ark.".
