A great identified shield badge worn by C.H. Knauss of Company B, 47th Pennsylvania Infantry. On the hanger is "C.H. Knauss". On the drop is "Co. B - 47th PA. V.V. Inf" with the 19th Corp badge.
C.H. Knauss mustered in to Company B on September 4, 1861 and mustered out December 25, 1865. He was wounded at Cedar Creek, Virginia.
